Mashable describes a service called InvisibleHand, that helps you find competing prices as you shop online.
InvisibleHand works for specific sites, on single-product pages. This is useful, and provides immediacy.
MashLogic automatically detects brand-product phrases on any web page, and shows you competing prices from various sources including Yahoo!, eBay, Amazon, and TheFind (CSE). We offer discovery, everywhere.
The pictures tell the story.
MashLogic detects products on web pages (see the dotted blue links in the figure below)

Mouse-over a link to see comparison data in a callout

Type anything into the callouts to search for products

We detect other types of content (e.g. Amazon products for a music performer)

It’s gratifying to see short URL factories adding filters to protect users.
As we’ve stated before, short URLs add a layer of opaque uncertainty to web navigation. Even normal URLs are translucent – as a leading URL authority once remarked:
The Web is like a Box of Chocolinks. You Never Know What You’re Gonna Get.
One of our most popular mashes is Link Information, which brings much-needed transparency to links (short or otherwise) so you can Look before you Click. When you mouse over hyperlinks, MashLogic does a few things.
-
We scout ahead to the link destination and bring you back it’s true URL and page title.
-
If the site/page has been tagged as unsafe, we warn you.

-
We check Alexa to determine if the site is slow or contains adult content.

These are just some of the many wondrous ways in which MashLogic can enrich and ensave? saven? your browsing experience. Get it now!

MashLogic’s browser extension adds links to web pages based on user’s preferences.
Hyperlinks have two endpoints – the linked word or phrase on the page (anchor text) and the destination. Our add-on is focused on locating and linking relevant terms on web pages. When users mouse over these links, we display a collection of useful destinations in a bubble (callout).
Users can install MashLogic from preferred sites
Our partners (TechCrunch, About.com, etc.) distribute branded versions of MashLogic to their visitors, which preferentially link back to them. Partners benefit from increased traffic, better user engagement, and new revenue opportunities. E.g. With TechCrunch 2Go, users will see links to articles on TC and company profiles on CrunchBase. As we add partners, users can take their favorite sites & brands 2Go!
In short, users can install MashLogic from partners they like and trust, strengthening the relationship between users and the brands they prefer. We balance the needs of users and publishers by carefully ensuring that our hyperlinks have awesome endpoints!
MashLogic for Publishers
We are now ready to bring this awesomeness to publishers, to help them maximize the value of content on their own sites. Brands and bloggers can increase traffic, boost user engagement, and generate revenue by enriching their content with high-quality links. We’re calling this 2Stay. Karthika at the Online Journalism Blog has described our publisher offerings eloquently and comprehensively.
Case Study: TechCrunch
- On CrunchNotes (a TechCrunch property), notice the dotted blue links that appear on the page (you do not need to have MashLogic installed in your browser to see this. All functionality is embedded in CrunchNotes).
- These links are automatically generated by MashLogic. Mouse over them and you will see links to news from TechCrunch and (where applicable) company and people profiles on CrunchBase.
- With 2Stay technology, traffic is redirected to relevant content on TechCrunch sites => More page views!
- If users like the experience, they click the footer of these “mini callouts” and install TechCrunch 2Go. They are now just one click away from TechCrunch content wherever they go => More return traffic!

2Stay and 2Go for TechCrunch

That title is so much catchier than Transparent Short URLs.
Whether you dislike short URLs or you’re willing to live with them, there’s no denying that they add a layer of opaque uncertainty to web navigation.
The most recent MashLogic update brings much-needed transparency to links (short or otherwise) so you can Look before you Click. When you mouse over hyperlinks, we tell you where that link will take you, along with the title of the destination page and a short description of the target site.
The new & improved Link Information mash will tell you if the site is slow or contains adult content. And if the link has been flagged as unsafe we’ll give you ample warning.
In the latest update, we’ve also make our callouts (pop-ups) draggable, using the top bar of the callout. You can change the style of MashLogic links (Configure -> Options). Along with improvements in performance and precision, this release announcement marks another milestone in bad puns from MashLogic.
